Class, Seminar & Workshop Schedule

Our primary goal is to provide you with the best instruction possible while

learning in a safe and injury-free environment.  Our students often comment

that we take away the mystery of learning martial arts.  Most students are

surprised that the principles, concepts, and strategies that we advocate

are effective from the very first class.  This saves them from years of

frustration, trying to decipher via trial and error what actually works in a

real confrontation and what could cost them their life.  In addition, they love

that they can learn self-defense without getting hurt.

We are a school that does not withold information.  Moreover, our

instructors can tailor the art to your individual needs so that you can be

effective regardless of whether you're in shape or out of shape,

        experienced or just a begginner.

We do not teach sport-based martial arts.  Instead, we focus on providing

the tools and skill-sets that are needed to survive and prevail against

unarmed and armed assaults on the streets.

All classes are taught in a fun and nurturing atmosphere where we

encourage you to ask questions and make mistakes.   We feel that is the

best way to quickly gain a comprehensive and practical working

         knowledge of the marital arts.

If you have any questions or concerns about how we train, how we teach, or

if there is anything that was not addressed through the web site, please

do not hesitate to contact us.  We are here to help.

Where:   Weare, NH

Cost:  $100.00 per month (unlimited membership)
            $35.00 per session (limited membership)

Instructors:  Guro Director Peter Freedman
                         Assistant Guro Ryan Birmingham
                         Assistant Guro Fred Lorman
                         Assistant Patrick Gibbons
                         Assistant Philip Duldulao

Description:   Arnis, Kali, and Escrima are weapons-based martial arts that originated in the islands of the Philipines.  These combative martial arts are primarly comprised of Solo Baston (Single Stick), Doble Baston (Double Stick), Olising Maliit (Pocket Stick), Latigo y daga (Whip & Dagger), Espada y Daga (Sword & Dagger), flexible weapons such as Lubid (Rope), Latigo (Whip), Panyo (handkerchief/scarf) & Cadena (Chain); empty hand self defense (Suntukan, Kadena de Mano, Mano Mano & Pangamot), Dumog and Trankada (Filipino method of grappling, joint locking, throwing and take downs), Kicking (Sikaran) and evasive foot work (Serrada and Triangulo footwork). Students learn about these effective arts in a nurturing and safe atmosphere where they're encouraged to laugh, ask questions, and make mistakes.  Safety is the most important priority of every class.

In most sessions students often practice sparring (Laban Laro) in a safe and controlled

manner both with and without body armor.  At first new students begin learning the 5 basic

strikes (Cinco teros) and Largo Mano methods; training slowly until familiarity and

confidence has been acquired through repetition.  At that point we encourage students to

train faster until eventually they become skilled with moving and sparring at full speed.

In addition, we also cover the history of the Filipino Martial Arts culture along with the

geography of the Philippines to better instill a working and comprehensive knowledge of

this powerful system of fighting.  As with all classes nutrition and anatomy are covered to

help facilitate weight loss and increase strength, flexibility, and the overall health of your

body and mind.

This is an effective art for self-defense for practically everyone.  If you work in law enforcement or security and you want to learn different ways to use your baton on the job for capturing, controlling, applying joint locks, or disarming assailants who are wielding weapons such as a knife or a baseball bat, then this class will be invaluable for your well-being and for your suspects' safety. We even cover how to use your baton to defensively ward off attacks from aggressive dogs and animals.

“From Peter’s classes my martial arts skills improved dramatically, along with my creativity, self-confidence, interpersonal behavior, and all-around state of well-being and understanding of the world we live in. Having been exposed to and enriched by Sensei Freedman's method puts me in an especially privileged position concerning my ability to absorb knowledge from and critically assess other methods of teaching.”

Bogdan Enoiu - Computer programmer

"Peter has a unique way of

seeing martial art concepts and

principles and making them easy

to see by the student.  Hence,

competency is achieved more

rapidly than many other

methods of teaching.  Peter fosters an environment that is conducive to learning by helping people relax and open their eyes to a different way of absorbing information, which is why students in the class seem to excel quickly to find their potential.  To become a competent martial artist is not really as difficult as many places lead you to believe.  After a few classes you realize how simple it really is to learn, if you open your mind.  That is what Freedman’s Method emphasizes."

Joseph Nevaras, Mental health

case worker

"As an Executive Protection Specialist I need training that will compliment my chosen vocation   -- the protection of myself and a third party.  Although I train myself in many aspects of self-defense and defensive tactics, I am always looking for training that compliments my training and Sensei Freedman's method does just that.  I have enjoyed the flow method of teaching which I believe is the best way to describe it and the fact that it can be tailored to anyone, experienced or not.  I have also enjoyed the leave your ego at the door approach."

Thomas LeBrun, Executive protection specialist; International Martial Arts Hall of Fame; Bodyguard Hall of Fame;

Bodyguard of the year for 1999 and 2005.
